The tractor drive shafts are important component of the power transmission system in agricultural machinery. They main function is to efficiently transfer the engine power to the wheels or the accompanying agricultural machinery, serving as the core assembly that ensures the operational efficiency and driving safety of the tractor.
Structural Composition
Transmission shaft tube: Made of high-strength aluminum alloy, it is the main component for power transmission and can withstand torque and bending stress.
Universal joint: It enables power transmission between the input and output ends that are not on the same plane. The maximum angle can reach 80°. It adopts a ball cage structure to ensure smooth transmission.
Coupling and Bevel Shaft: Connects the gearbox and the drive axle. The rectangular bevel gear design enhances transmission accuracy.
Bearings and Seals: Deep groove ball bearings (for high-speed and heavy load), cylindrical roller bearings (with strong load-bearing capacity), and sliding bearings (for low-speed and heavy load) are used in combination. Oil seals prevent the leakage of lubricating oil.
The spline shape of the tractor drive shafts can directly affect its rotational efficiency and load-bearing capacity, and it is also applicable to different application scenarios.
Rectangular spline
● It adopts the method of small-diameter centering, ensuring good centering stability. The deformation caused by heat treatment can be eliminated through grinding to guarantee high precision.
● With multiple teeth, it can disperse the load and is suitable for fixed connections or sliding connections with medium to small loads.
● The tooth root is relatively shallow, resulting in less stress concentration. The strength of the shaft and hub is less weakened, and high precision can be achieved through grinding.
● It is commonly used in mechanical transmissions of tractors, automobiles, machine tools, etc., and is particularly suitable for situations requiring high alignment and guidance.
Involute spline
● The tooth profile is an involute curve. When subjected to load, it generates radial force, ensuring that each tooth is evenly stressed, resulting in high strength and long service life.
● It can be commonly used for side tooth alignment, or also for large-diameter or small-diameter alignment.
● The process is similar to that of gears, making it easy to achieve high precision and interchangeability.
● It is suitable for connections with large loads, high alignment accuracy requirements, and large dimensions.
Triangular spline
● Simple processing: The teeth are small and numerous, facilitating adjustment and assembly, and causing minimal weakening of the shaft and hub.
● Suitable for static connections with small diameters and low loads, such as connections of thin-walled parts.
● Simple structure and low manufacturing cost.
