Obstacle-avoidance mowers can flexibly avoid tree trunks, preventing damage to fruit trees; reciprocating mowers move gently, causing minimal soil disturbance, and can precisely control stubble height, protecting crop roots. For clearing wasteland, removing shrubs, or processing hard straw, flail mowers or heavy-duty rotary mowers are recommended. Flail mowers, through high-speed impact, can cut shrubs and reeds up to 3 cm in diameter, making them suitable for wasteland reclamation. Heavy-duty rotary mowers have robust, impact-resistant blades, capable of handling tall weeds and woody vegetation in rocky, rugged terrain.
In parks, golf courses, and other settings where lawn smoothness is crucial, roller-type fine mowers offer scissor-like cutting with even, uniform stubble. Wide-width rotary mowers are better suited for rapid mowing of large lawns and allow for precise height adjustment.
For small family farms or backyard maintenance, small overhead or walk-behind mowers are more practical. The former is compatible with low-horsepower tractors and offers flexible operation; the latter requires no large power equipment, is cost-effective, easy to store, and suitable for fine mowing of small areas.
In addition, general principles should be followed when selecting a model: ensure that the output power of the tractor matches the needs of the mower to avoid overloading; select a model with strong contouring ability or high efficiency and stability based on the terrain; prioritize ensuring forage quality or heavy cutting capacity based on the operational objectives; and pay attention to the ease of blade replacement and maintenance costs to improve long-term efficiency.
